Stephen Bayliss on June 10

Today there were 4 races at the last of the Triathlon/Aquathon Lanzarote series held at Club La Santa. Bayliss Multisport won all 4 races!!! Congratulations Leila, Leo, Harry and Tiffany!!!

Here is the report and magnificent photo memories by Steve Lupson.

In the Infantile Category we had Becky, Leila, Millie and Sidney racing the Triathlon. All 4 girls have stepped up in training over the past weeks to conquer these challenging races and today they did just that.
Leila came out the water first followed by Sidney, Millie then Becky, Leila never looked back and powered on the bike to take more of a lead during the bike and run. Congratulations on a great win and congratulations winning this series Leila!
Sidney overcame an injury in the past few weeks to conquer this race today and with a great 2nd place. Congratulations Sidney!
Millie’s chain came off out of transition but once the chain was on there was no stopping her, she powered on the bike and moved herself into 3rd place for the run and stayed there to the finish. Congratulations Millie.
Becky raced tough through swim, bike and run fighting for the top spots, a sprint finish with another girl on the last 400m could not quite get her 4th place.
All great practise for the next year when the girls move into the next category and opportunities to represent Lanzarote in the Canary Islands Championship.

In the Infantile boys category we had Leo and Urko racing. Leo had a really smooth race today, and he took the opportunity and made sure it was his day! Congratulations on a great win Leo!
Urko raced his first triathlon in months, it was great to see this powerful boy racing, we are excited to his future. Today Urko raced on his Mountain Bike which was not the best bike to race against boys on road bikes but he gave his best, Urko came 4th overall, Congratulations Urko.

In the Cadete girls category we had Tiffany racing. Once again Tiffany took this race by the scruff of the neck, racing from the front from gun to tape. Congratulations on a great win today Tiffany, Congratulations winning the series and qualifying for the Lanzarote team at the Canarian Championship. We are all very proud of you.

In the Cadete boys category we had Harry, Jorge and Marcos racing. It was intense racing! All boys having had their fair share of problems recently. The boys were smooth and powerful, Marcos exited the water first followed by Harry and Jorge in 4th, Marcos kept his lead on the bike, followed by Harry then Jorge moving into 3rd during the bike. On the run Harry caught Marcos to take the win, Marcos hung onto 2nd with a fast charging Jorge just behind in 3rd place. Congratulations boys on a very good race. Congratulations to all of you coming back after the problems. Congratulations Jorge winning the series in his first year as a Cadete! Congratulations all 3 qualifying to represent Lanzarote in the Canarian Championship.
